My dreams and desires

I love working with children. Missions and children have been major passions of mine for as long as I can remember. Being a mom to hundreds of kids is a dream that is often joked about in my life. But the Lord has really given me a really big heart for children and loving those that have no one to love them. I am really invovled in my church. I help as a TNT Girls leader, teach LIttle Church, and spend some time in the nursery. I think I just love being around kids. That might be a good thing since I am an over grown child myself. I like to eat yummy food, read books, take pictures, build relationships, and joke around with friends. If there is any way not to have to be serious all the time, I find it. There is a philosophy in life I like to follow - "God made me happy, so I am going to live life abundantly." And abundantly, I do! People have often given me many nicknames in life and most have to deal with sunshine or giggles. So, if you ever see a really smiley, giggly girl around then you have probably found me.

The Lord is constantly teaching, stretching, and growing my faith in Him. I do not know where I will end up. It would be wonderful serving the Lord overseas, but if He has me in the states, then I will serve HIm there. I have found that it is not the destination but the journey we are on. Sure, it would be perfect to know where and what I am doing, but it is equally wonderful to trust God. He will reveal each step in life as I need it, when I need it. My responsiblity is to trust HIm -- nothing more, nothing less.

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found.
He is my light, my strength, my song.
This cornerstone, this solid ground --
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled and strivings cease.
My Comforter, my All in All.
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone who took on flesh --
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid.
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay --
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day -
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine.
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death.
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand.
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand.

The joy's of being a bus driver!

Shining Lights

Today as I was driving home from AWANA I got to thinking. Yes, yes i know be careful or i will hurt myself but well it just naturally flowed from some things that have happened recently. I am beginning to see little children love me unashamedly for no reason at all. They want to be like me and want me to be happy all the time. They look up to me! That is such a scary thought!!! Someone thinks I am worth imitating. But then I got to thinking even more. There are people out there that i want to imitate and be like. There is no crime against it. And imitation is the best flattery. Paul, himself, said to be like him as he is like Christ. Christ wanted us to copy Him. As we grow in our relationship with our friends we start to unconsciously pick up their habits. One day you will realize that you make some of the same hand gestures or some of the same sound effects. It is uncanny! But as we grow in our relationship with Christ others should start to see Christ's habits in us. Their should be compassion for others, patience in dealing with annoying people, and a light shining forth that can only be described as Christ. We are examples to the world whether we realize that or not! What people see in our lives reflects on their views of Christ and Christians. So why do anything that we would be ashamed to do in front of children or other adults?

Just a few thoughts!!! Keep looking to Christ for everything!

Papua New Guinea Pictures from my 2005 trip.

Some ofmy favorite artwork!

Ansel Adams quote

Some photographers take reality...and impose the domination of their own thought and spirit. Others come before reality more tenderly and a photograph to them is an instrument of love and revelation.
